Metro Petroleum wrapped up 2025 with its much-anticipated Annual Christmas Celebration, held at the stunning La Castelle venue in Bankstown. It was a night full of festive cheer, reflection, and well-deserved recognition, hosted by company founders John and George Dib.
More than just a holiday event, the evening brought together employees, suppliers, community figures, and VIPs from all corners of business and public life. Among the special guests were NSW Minister Jihad Dib, Father Assaad Lahoud from St. Charbel Monastery along with several monks, and Bankstown Councillor George Zakia. The media was also well represented with leaders from top publications including Anwar Harb of Annahar Australia, Joe Khoury of Al-Mustaqbal, Antoine Kazzi of Telegraph Newspaper, Camil Shallala of Middle East Times, and Sayed Mikhael of Al-Hawadess.
As with every year, Metro Petroleum picked a cultural theme to shape the evening’s celebrations. This time, the team embraced traditional Vietnamese attire, adding vibrant colour and flair to the atmosphere. Popular broadcaster Andrew Voss returned to host the night, keeping the crowd engaged and the energy high.
A key highlight of the night was honouring team members who’ve contributed decades of service to Metro. Employees who’ve reached 10, 20, and 30-year milestones were celebrated, including Lola Dib Zaatini for 10 years and both Mrs. Leila Younis and Gary Tong for an incredible 30 years of dedication. Their loyalty and hard work stood as a shining example of the values Metro upholds.
There was also a creative Christmas performance that lit up the venue and brought an extra layer of joy to the evening.
One of the most inspiring parts of the night was a presentation by Elie John Dib, who walked attendees through some of Metro Petroleum’s biggest achievements in 2025. He also highlighted several of the company’s community outreach programs, reinforcing Metro’s focus on social responsibility across Australia.
In his speech on behalf of John and George Dib and the wider Dib Group family, Elie thanked every guest, franchisee, and employee for their contribution. He spoke about the company’s heart: the people who work behind the scenes, serve customers every day, and help grow the business across the country. According to Elie, what makes Metro truly strong isn’t just infrastructure or footprint it’s the people who give it life.
As the company looks ahead to 2026, the evening served as both a celebration and a reminder of the shared journey that’s built Metro Petroleum into one of Australia’s leading fuel providers.
